See what is due and by when after your last working day. Enter your country and how the job ended to get dated steps: when your final pay is due, when to claim unemployment insurance, and the last day to bring a claim if you are not paid.
What should I do first when my job ends in the Gulf?
Note the day your final pay is due. In the UAE it is within 14 days of the end of the contract. In Saudi Arabia it is within 1 week if your employer ended the contract or it ran out, and 2 weeks if you ended it. In Qatar it is before the end of the next working day after the contract ends (Art. 67). In Oman and Bahrain it is as soon as the job ends, with up to 7 days in some cases where you left on your own (Oman Art. 91, Bahrain Art. 40). In Kuwait, ask PAM. When the money arrives, check it against what the law gives you.
How long do I have to claim unpaid end of service pay?
UAE: claims are not heard after 2 years from the end of the job. Saudi Arabia: 12 months. Kuwait: 1 year from the end of the contract if your employer denies the claim. Qatar: 1 year, and a settlement request to the Ministry pauses that clock. Oman: 1 year from when each right fell due. Bahrain: 1 year, but a claim for compensation for the termination must be filed within 30 days.
Can I claim unemployment insurance after I leave?
In the UAE, claim ILOE within 30 days if you have 12 months of subscription in a row and did not resign or get dismissed for disciplinary reasons. Bahrain pays insured expats too: register within 30 days to be paid from day 8. The Saudi, Omani and Kuwaiti schemes are for their own nationals, and Qatar's Social Insurance Law has no unemployment branch.
What if a deadline has already passed?
The plan still shows it, with the date it passed. Some routes can stay open: a Saudi labour court can hear a late claim if it accepts your reason, and in Qatar a settlement request pauses the time limit. Read the complaint guide for your country.
